Goals & Objectives

The Overall Goal of WWoH is to promote peace and stability in South Sudan by empowering impoverished and conflict-affected communities through provision of opportunities for all-inclusive and sustainable development.
The Broad Objectives of WWoH includes the following:

a) Providing humanitarian support to the vulnerable households affected by the recurrent conflicts in South Sudan through partnership with international humanitarian agencies.
b) Improving food security by promoting diversification of livelihoods through provision of agriculture inputs and capacity building.
c) Empower the women, youth and out-of-school adolescent girls and boys of South Sudan through the provision of skills-driven vocational training geared at enhancing-

employability and livelihood standards.
d) WASH Interventions through the provision of accessible and clean drinking water, improving the communities’ standards of hygiene and quality sanitation facilities and physical infrastructure.
e) Promoting sustainable community-based conflict resolution and peace building aimed at enhancing peaceful coexistence and social cohesion in South Sudan.
f) Promotion of Basic Education with Special Focus on Adolescent Girls’ Education and Protection.
g) Promotion of Gender Equality by creating awareness on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence(Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) in conflict-affected areas of South Sudan
h) Promotion of Child Protection, Rights of Children and address the issues related to abuse and marginalization of children.
i) To increase strategic coordination and collaboration with partners (including donors) by sharing information, skills and knowledge pertaining the transformation of communities affected by conflicts and natural disasters.

Governance

WWoH is governed by its Board of Directors who plays a critical role in the development and success of the organization. The members, who are mainly volunteers, act as guardians for WWoH by protecting and maintaining the core values and purposes of the organization.

As a collective body, the directors hold the authority and responsibility to ensure the fulfillment of WWoH’s mission. The board’s main responsibilities include establishing and supporting WWoH vision and mission, acting as the legal owners of the organization, ensuring the organization is sustainable, evaluating performance, supporting staff and reviewing and creating policies.

WWoH Board of Directors consists of seven (7) members who are normally democratically elected to the board at an Annual General Meeting, for a period of five (5) years. WWoH always aim to establish a well- balanced board that collectively share the qualities

needed to responsibly manage the organization. We actively work to assemble diverse representations of leaders in South Sudan and beyond that can serve to broaden support for the organization.

Our Board of Directors is headed by the chairman who is the founder of the organization. Other key members include the Secretary (who is also the Executive director of WWoH) and the Treasurer. The Chairman chairs all the meetings of the Board and all General Meetings. He also provides the general policy guidelines related to the affairs of the Organization as expressly provided in the constitution.

Management

WWoH is led by its Executive Director who is the formal head of the organization. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall management of the organization. The Executive Director is supported by the programs manager and team of project coordinators /officers of different sections / projects of the organization and they jointly form a management structure for organization.
